An extract that is not analyzed for lot-specific biological potency. No FDA standardization protocol has been defined. Therapeutic dosing also has not been defined. Formulations for non-standardized extracts include: weight-to-volume (w/v) and Protein Nitrogen Unit (PNU) designations.
