Intradermal (ID)

Intradermal (i.e., intracutaneous) solutions of allergen extracts are available in 10 mL sterile vials.

Since this allergen injection goes deeper than skin prick testing (SPT), it is much more sensitive. Therefore, ID concentrations should be 100- to 1000-fold more dilute than the concentrate, which is used in SPT (e.g., 1:100 to 1:1000 v/v, respectively).

Please refer to the section How to Perform Dilutions for more information on preparing these concentrations.
