Skin prick test

A percutaneous test used to identify a patient’s allergic response to various allergens. If the patient produces an inflammatory response (e.g. Wheal and Flare), then the patient is identified as sensitized to the evaluated allergen. Skin prick test reactivity can be correlated with patient history to determine allergens to be included in patient vials formulated for allergy immunotherapy.
